Dial "B" for ....

So this is the new thing at the office. There are a few diabetics there and sometimes we test our blood sugar. In the words of Nacho Libre "is for fun". Mine today was a lovely 86 this was what we call a fasting number. Now if we had done it after the V-day chocolate it would have been say 200. And I would have lapsed into a diabetic coma. I liked the machine we used to "stabby stab" our finger. It was one drop or two? Bleed like a stuck pig or just a little prick? Ouch! I am a wimp so Jenell had to do it. Glad to find out we were all in the clear. Now if we could just start a weight watchers meeting we would really be getting somewhere.

MOVE it or LOSE it

We helped friends move today everything went great until we tried to move their Brand New box springs upstairs. We looked like monkeys trying to figure out how it would fit. It won't. Just an inch would have helped us. If you know someone good at small demo they may need a step or two taken out or box springs sawed in half? Oh and we had the pleasure of working with Miss Sassy Boots, the best gaurd dog in the world...

There was a barber and his wife
and she was beautiful...
a foolish barber and his wife.
She was his reason for his life...
and she was beautiful, and she was virtuous.
And he was nieve.
There was another man who saw
that she was beautiful...
A biased vulture of the law
who, with a gesture of his claw
removed the barber from his plate!
And there was nothing but to wait!
And she would fall!
So soft!
So young!
So lost and oh so beautiful!

The more I listen to the sound track the more I love this musical. The story is dark but it has such intricate timing and the lyrics are gorgeous.

Bounce a Quarter

So if you look closely you will notice something strange about these quarters...okay give up? We got these neat quarters from the bank mixed in a standard roll. The only thing is they are not the same boring old quarters, they are SILVER! Which is a great discovery because they stopped making them a long time ago and now they are highly colletable. Wanda and her hawk eyes saw them come in and immediatley traded a few dollars to the cash drawer for them. What I love about these quarters is that when they age they look like old silver jewelry not a scratched up light weight coin and they were really heavy. It's awesome to see something like this and realize it is more valuable than just it's monetary label. I can see a little more clearly why people watch coin shows, but don't expect to see me collecting them on a board anytime soon....
